I have a friend with an extra ticket for the Cinematic Titanic show this Friday at the Royal Oak Music Theater here in Michigan. They are willing to give it away for free to someone who wants it. Please reply if you, or someone you know, is interested.

I have not been to a show, but I am hoping to make it to one of the Chicago shows this September. I have some questions ;)
1)Do you ask for pictures with cast members at the autograph table or do you just have to hope you run into them?
2)How long are the shows?
3)Do they sell merchandise?

Thanks in advance & my fingers are crossed that I can make it to the show!

Woops, I'm sorry but I forgot I joined this community a while back...I see I never shared my CT experience from June 13 in Philly:

I dare say it was the most fun I’ve had in a very, very long time. I had no idea what to expect going into it, but wow. I drove two hours from Baltimore and stood in line for over an hour (thank you to Gruber and Frank for talking to me in line, btw) and it was all worth it. I was the girl in the Fawlty Towers t-shirt, if anyone saw me. Frank and Trace complimented it, hehe. Frank said he noticed me from the stage! The show was amazing. I knew what they did with the movie, but I had no clue they were going to do the skits before hand. That was brilliant. From start to finish, it was one of the most memorable nights of my life. At the end, I got a stagehand to give me one of Joel’s water bottles off the stage and I got him to sign it later, along with a picture. I got pictures of everyone, and one with Joel and Trace. I was shaking with excitment.

just a few pictures, not too big. read on, won't you?Collapse )

So, I'm thinking of getting one of the CT vids I don't have yet, and I'm wondering, which do you all recommend, Frankenstein's Castle of Freaks or Blood of the Vampires? I have the others already.
Thanks in advance.

Interesting thing about "Legacy of Blood"
So, I was watching Legacy of Blood the other day, and I got to the part where they stop the film to play "Which Thing Won't Kill You?" Josh plays the game, and before he starts, he says, "Frank, if I die I want you to have my lines." Given that Frank took over as Forrester's assistant after Dr. Earhart left, this almost HAS to be a reference to that...

Rock climbing, Joel.
So did anybody make it to either of the first two shows in SF this weekend? I got to see last night's performance of "The Dynamite Brothers" and my muscles still ache from laughing so hard. I was the gal in the Dr. F "I'm Evil!" t-shirt. Love to hear from folks who were there, and if anybody was lucky enough to get photos I'd really love to see them!

Happy Valentines from Hor-RIFF-ic Productions!
Most of you are probably familiar with our little team by now, but just in case you’re not… We are Gary and Erin Slasher, the goriest couple in movie riffing to date. He’s your typical cleaver wielding psychopath and she’s a brain devouring zombie with a heart of gold. Having failed to make it in the horror movie biz themselves we’ve set out to do the next best thing -- cut our more successful colleagues to ribbons with sharp tongues and razor-like wit! No horror movie is safe!

Just in time for the Holiday, we’ve finished slashing our latest victim… My Bloody Valentine, now available for only $1.99 on RiffTrax. And because we’re feeling especially sweet… we’ve released a track for both the previously released theatrical version of the film AND the new extended, uncut version.

We’ll be heartbroken if you don’t check out the following sample clip…

You can get more info, view another sample, and purchase our riff here!

And please feel free to friend us to receive updates on future victims.

Hope You Have a VERY Bloody Valentine’s Day!

So whattaya think?

Personally, I am THRILLED that they are tackling this one again. The cache of truly sucky holiday films is limited (unless they wanted to go for something like Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny, OH DEAR GOD NOOOOOO!), and this one definitely deserves the CT treatment. I can't wait!!

Icon request: Legacy of Blood
Okay, so I'm watching Legacy of Blood and it's absolutely the best Cinematic Titanic so far, and I say that as a Wasp Woman addict. These films just keep getting better and better. Legacy of Blood is snuff film noir at its finest.

So now I have an icon request: the scene where what's her name in her underwear bolts out of bed and Joel shouts HAM!-- could someone make an icon of that? I laughed till I cried when I first saw it. I have nothing to give in return but my dignity.

New episode announcement from Joel!
Did you get your email today?? If not, here's the lowdown:

Greetings,

It's been very busy around here at Cinematic Titanic, but a good kind of busy. First off, we've been working on the new batch of shows for the fall and winter. As you may have heard: we're planning on settling into a delivery schedule of a new show every six weeks or so. Which means, we'll have our new offering "The Wasp Woman" available AUGUST 7th.

And hey, if you haven't picked up our current release, "Cinematic Titanic's Doomsday Machine", head over to our store and check it out.

This week we're shooting interviews for the much-anticipated Mystery Science Theater 20th anniversary box set. The producers at "Shout Factory" asked us to come to the shoot, "camera ready" and dressed as "we'd want our children and grandchildren to see us". So, I'm curious, how exactly do you pick out an outfit for something like that? And this weekend, Trace, Josh, Frank, Mary Jo and I will be traveling to San Diego to attend Comic-con on and do a special panel celebrating the 20th anniversary of MST3K. Which is also being taped for the 20th anniversary box set. It's going to feel like Christmas in July! I can't wait to watch Trace and Frank walk through the dealer's room together and cause some major MSTie frenzy! Please come by and say hello if you happen to be at the con.

Also, we just booked an unbelievably great (and huge) venue for Cinematic Titanic Live in St. Louis called Family Arena on November 1st, which is exactly a week after our homecoming show in Minneapolis at the State Theatre on October 25th. Tickets will be on sale very soon. Tickets for the State Theatre are available here.

Finally, I'm happy to announce some innovations to the website, recently it occurred to us that our site doesn't really explain what it is we're in the business of: which is selling feature length movie riffing DVDs and download to burn DVDs. So the new homepage will make that act much more direct for everyone. Check it! (soon to be live).

(click to embiggen - it's humongous)

'Nuff said, thanks again for your goodwill and support.

Cheers
Joel

Quick question
Since they're doing so with "Doomsday Machine," I wondered if they're putting new orders of "The Oozing Skull" into proper DVD cases now, rather than the paper sleeves everyone was complaining about before. Does anyone know?

Doomsday Machine arrived yesterday!
And was watched last night. The crew did a fabulous job as expected, but this movie....... It hurt meh. The ending... The ending is one big WTF. Monster-A-Go-Go springs to mind. The hubby and I are still scratching our heads.

The DVD was very nicely packaged in a real DVD case this time. I also liked the little "Thanks for shopping Cinematic Titanic" note from Trace (I'm guessing they had the whole crew sign a bunch of those for inclusion with the DVD; who did you get?). Let's hope they will reissue The Oozing Skull in like manner (EDIT: Duh, they already did!)

Bottom line: This one gets a 10 from me.
